Make a video of yourself for your kids

This post How to Leave the Kids Behind- On the go with Amy reminded me that when my kids were younger and I left my kids for a trip with my hubby, I would make a video of myself.  The video would include me singing, reading books and talking to their favorite lovies.  It’s easy to make one, you could too.

Don’t be afraid to make a fool of yourself.  Just get into the mood!  Does your child have a favorite book you’ve read a million times?  Read it in the video!  Show video of you with the book and also show close ups of the book’s pages.  Sing your child’s favorite songs, songs to favorite shows, or even the good  ol’  ABCs.

Find your child’s favorite stuffed animal or doll.  Video yourself talking to the animal or doll who will still be with them when you’re gone.  Tell the animal or doll to take care of your child.  Have the animal or doll “whisper” in your ear~ “What’s that Pooh?  You love baby?  I love baby too!”  You get the idea.

And if you’re really brave you won’t tape over it when you get home.  You’ll save your video for a good chuckle with your grandkids.  Imagine how surprised they’ll be to see you when you were so young!
