Lidded Puke Bucket

I know, I know, quite the title, huh?   Let’s face it though, sometimes kiddos get sick.  And sometimes they get sick in the car. What do you do?

From a very early age,  I’ve taught my children to use a puke bucket when they’re sick.  As a child I remember that one of the bad things about being sick was wondering if you were going to make it to the bathroom if you threw up.  And the fact that we only had one bathroom, made me worry if someone would be in there if I suddenly needed to use it.  So I’ve taught the kids to use a puke bucket when they have upset tummies or flu.  It eliminates a lot of the panic that comes with vomiting.  Now whenever they feel nauseous they’ll get a puke bucket and keep it close by.

What is a “puke bucket”?  It’s any old water bottle or souvenier cup with a big opening.  Since we’re taking about using it in the car, you’ll want to find one with a lid so you can seal it if it gets used.  Then when you stop you can throw it away. No mess in the car. No panicked sick child.

Hopefully you won’t ever need to use it;  but it’s better to have it in the car and not need it, than wish that you had it.
