Audiobooks

I love this travel idea from Jamie Pearson at Travel Savvy Mom:

Bring along audiobooks for the trip instead of DVDs.

As she mentions, the library is an excellent source of books on tape, CD, and playaway.  I suggest checking out the book too so your child can follow along. I think it helps build their reading skills, especially if you pick out books that are a little above their current reading level.
